These internet stars with autism make us go “wow!”.
1. The Mad Scientist: Dr. Mad Scientist (a.k.a. Jordan Hilkowitz) is just 10 years old. ”Hilkowitz was diagnosed with severe autism when he was just 18 months and didn’t talk until he was 5. [His mom] remembers watching her son bang his head against the tile floor in frustration at not being able to make himself understood.” reports Deborah Netburn of the LA Times.
2. The Piano Man: Ethan Walmark is just 6-years old and surpasses the chopsticks medley that most 6-year olds play. Ethan has had musical aptitude since age 4 and his Piano Man intro has been preferred over Billy Joel’s by many.
3. The Human Camera: You may recognize him from his viral photo of his reproduction of the New York Skyline. (click here if you didn’t). In this video, Stephen Wiltshire flies over Tokyo and reproduces the city as he saw it based on his 20-minute helicopter ride.
4. The Human iPod: Nathan Pustka can hear a song once, and reproduce it on the piano after only one listen. “Nathan has taught himself to sing and play just by listening to songs on his iPod. He figures out chords, and remembers the songs, even the lyrics, perfectly. Nathan also has perfect pitch, a note-identifying talent that exists in one in every 10,000 people.” (soucre: ABC Local)
